AGWG Secretary Position (Maternity Cover)

The Animal Geography Working Group is currently seeking a new committee member to cover the role of Secretary from January 2024 to October 2024, with a flexible start date and possibility of extension. The secretary role includes scheduling and minuting meetings; mailing list and member management; attending committee meetings; attending RGS Research group meetings; editing AGWG blog submissions; co-organising events; and supporting developing ideas for the AGWG. The time commitment is minimal but the rewards are (hopefully) big!

The AGWG committee are friendly and collaborative, sharing responsibilities and working together for a supportive environment for animal geographers. Particular highlights of the next year that the Secretary could get involved in are public engagement events, a Multispecies Methods workshop, and conference activities.

The Secretary will be fully supported by the AGWG chair (Katie Oliver) and treasurer (Jamie Arathoon) in their role, as well as being provided with a handover document by the current Secretary (Hannah Dickinson). If the appointed cover secretary would like to stay on the committee after their term is up, we will support them in transition to another role.

If you would like to apply for the role, please email Katie to express your interest: C.Oliver@lancaster.ac.uk

Please note, this is a voluntary and unpaid position (as with all Royal Geographical Society committee roles). You can find out more about committee roles on the RGS website.
